Indeed. They're worse while you're sleeping too. That's not the way I want to be woken up.

Had a double header that was so bad I started spewing from the pain... In every direction. Bloody unpleasant!

Footy related injury?

Ellen's dancing on her show gives me the shits.

I don't know what purpose it serves, and I don't know why the crowd get so into it. She's a really shitty dancer.

hospitality workers here wanting the tipping system here like the americans. Well when they drop the hourly rate to $5-$10 an hour like the americans i will consider it!!!!!!

Im not against tipping, i will happily tip here if the service is worthy of it.

That's exactly right.

The level of table service one gets in North America is often streets ahead of what we get here.

I'm not sure many (if any) wait/bar staff would want to give up such a large chunk of their wages, as it's going to take a while for it to become second nature to the public, and I'm not sure too many staff members would be overly confident in their customer service skills.

I went to a restaurant last week, and when paying by credit card at the end of the meal on their credit machine it came up with a screen saying "tip amount"... Darn cheeky, I thought.

If people start tipping regularly, I think bosses will just grab the chance to reduce wages.?...?

As annoying as that one is, I was referring to the one where the bloke says " Hello".

The "Tip amount" provision on credit card slips has been around for while - I just put a line through it.
I imagine some restaurant owners who come here from overseas would like to bring on the US style system of a low base wage and relying on tips to make a living, but I'm certainly opposed to it. At the same time while minimum wages are regulated I don't think staff or owners here should be pushing for tips as well.

I normally leave a tip if the service and food has been good. But that's the kind of guy I am.
