I was there on Saturday night too but got there late so didn't eat there. My friends waited at least 45 mins for their food.

No. But Vasco de Gama did once climb my crows-nest, staining the poop-deck in the process.

Queens Head Kermode Street, North Adelaide.

$15 wood oven pizzas on Wednesday night.

3 of us shared a spiced lamb and a barossa fine foods pizza.

OH MY FREAKING GOD. Pissibly the best pizza i've ever eaten, good crust to topping ratio, not greasy, just phenominal.

Pizzas are a decent size too, we thought the 2 pizzas would be too much for 3 of us but polished both pizzas off without feeling disgusting at the end.

Do yourself a favour. Beer garden, whilst small, has a great ambiance. 9/10

Schnithouse - Rundle St yesterday arvo.

Not very busy when we arrived at just before 3pm.

Took too long to get served, to the point where just walking out was seriously considered...

They decided yesterday was a good day to start a new girl.

She ****** up the order.

They delivered 3 meals to us, even after looking at the receipt just after paying to rectify it.

They then delived my Bull Clive Parma on chicken breast.....not even a schnitzel.....

That was a debacle.
Sent it back and finally got my meal after the Mrs had finished hers.

I had signed up as a member etc, and was ready to turn it in and get a refund on that as I had no intention of going back

The manager was great. Got full refund. Apologised profusely. Even gave us a couple of extra free drinks.

Chips good, parmi good, side salad was just a wreck which my Mrs returned to kitchen

Vine Inn, Nuriootpa

Yesterday got the sautéed king prawns in creamy garlic sauce with rice for lunch which was to put it kindly crap. The prawns were warm at best the rice was gluggy and the sauce tasted disgusting. I should've just ordered 10 of those little dinner rolls with butter sachets would've been a nicer tasting meal. Wasn't happy having to stand in a line for a good 20 minutes waiting to be served despite the joint only being half full. I had heard before how useless the lady at the counter was but was unprepared for her constantly buggering up everyone's orders too.

D & M's Bakery Café, Angaston

However the homemade iced coffee's from D & M's at Angaston are to die for and can turn any previous shitty dining experience in to a wonderful day.

I have had some very decent meals at the Vine inn, recently, not amazing but maybe a solid 7/10. Hadn't had the prawns though.

Mansions - went with a mate Thursday night, still as dingy as I remember it as an under-ager back in '89

Scoopon deal, Seafood platter for 2 with garlic bread and bottle of wine - $40

Thought we were on a winner there.

Garlic bread was good, wine was nice

Seafood platter for two - consisted of two smallish pieces of fish, soggy, barely crumbed calamari rings,( that weren't even cut in full. I think they did it like that for effect/display but it was kinda annoying,), 2 button sized bugs, 2 x prawn skewers (which had 2 small prawns on it, smothered in chilli so I couldn't even eat mine) and a plateful of almost burnt chips.

I'm not sure what their other offerings are like but wasn't particularly impressed with the above

Very average indeed. 5/10

On the other hand....

I also discovered pasta deli on Glynburn Road on the weekend. Phenominal. We had Prawn and garlic pasta and fettucine marinara - absolutely beautiful. Given that the place was packed, the service time wasn't too bad. Their gelati is to die for (I had dark chocolate and banana)

8.5/10

Barrys Burgers at the pointy end of Semaphore Road.

The Mrs and I went there on a whim on Sunday night (about 8.30pm) and even though the street and foreshore were pumping, there was only two other customers in there, so we go some sweet seats.

I got the Baz Deluxe (beef, bacon, onion, jam, rocket, cheese and mayo) and the Mrs got the Veggie #1 (Haloumi, Chilli Jam, rocket, cucumber, onion, jam and mayo). Mine was amazing. The bun was toasted just a little bit, the jam gave the meat a good sweet flavour and it was a good size. The Mrs said that was the best veggie variant of any burger place we've to.

I got the sweet potato fries and the Mrs got the potato salad for sides. My fries were good. I'm no potato salad fan, but I smashed most of the Mrs's's's. That is some good shit.

I got a Heiny and she got an ice tea. Good selection of beers and crafty drinks. The beer was good, the ice tea was a bit bland, almost coloured water, but still refreshing.

Service - 10 (Very prompt, came and cleared the debris from the table a couple of times during our meal)
Food - 8 (Food was top notch, can't complain about anything. The ice tea knocked the score down a bit)
Ambiance - 8 (Good setting, the only negative was local scumbags loitering out the front of the open front of the shop)
Accessibility - 5 (Parking is a nightmare most evenings. We did a couple of laps before parking about three carparks away along the beachfront)

Final score - 7.75/10

Also hit up Burger Club at Mawson Lakes on Monday. I have never liked Burger Club, but we were out that way and hungry AF.

Pretty much an expensive chip shop burger. For a burger and beer, mine alone came to $22 WITHOUT chips.

The Mrs ordered a burger, chips and a drink, and never received her drink. Because of the expensiveness, she hadn't realised she hadn't been charged either. That's how expensive it was. For her veggie burger and a small chips.....$19.

2 x burgers
1 x small chips
1 x Carona
Total = $41....ridiculous.

Service - 3 (Didn't listen and the Mrs shared my beer)
Food - 3 (Neither of us finished our burgers)
Ambiance - 5 (Had the atmosphere of a chip shop)
Accessibility - 8 (Got a park easily along the lake. Heaps of parking behind it at the shopping centre too).

Final score - 4.75/10
