Lets just say when I got home from the footy last night I was not happy with what she told me had happened.
My wife answered the door at about 6.15pm didn't open the security door and kept the wooden door almost closed.I should point out our porch light blew and I haven't chnaged it yet  so she couldn't see how big this ethnic so and so was.
He started by saying he was from Telstra and we owed them money .They have been trying to call us and every time they ring we hang up.Well he was an Indian and we hung up all the time on indians ,I did friday morning. You know the phone says number unavailable or private. This guy says my name but adds an "S" to the end of my surname I of course say sorry not me .Sorry digressing here
So my wife says how can we owe Telstra money we have not been a client for years.
He moves on to how much you paying for line rental none of your business my wife says .How much you pay for Broadband the wife repeats the same answer. He goes on about local phone calls. And my wife gives up and tells him to go forth and multiply.
At this stage my teenage daughter comes up to see if mum is ok .They wait and go to our front window and watch him head to the house straight across from us.Their Great Dane went off he stopped and tried the house next to them.
So what right does this company have for ringing us not being able to speak English and then coming to our front door !! And lying about owing them money .
Telstra will have one angry housewife calling them Monday .Lucky I wasn't home he might have got the s***t smashed out of him for saying I owe them money !!!!!!!
Anger gone

Was he actually from Telstra or was he just trying to scam money from you like some people who used to go door to door to collect money for "charity"?

Well he knew about the phone calls .Lucky he didn't say Primus he would not have gotten away alive  they would phone up and say we hadn't paid our bill a week after we had.
Good point though my family (including my parents) funny things have been going on .Parents got a phone call saying they hadn't paid a bill so there TV would not get delivered . After 30 odd phone calls my mum decided someone was trying to scam them.
And a week latter I got a bill from an orthopedic surgeon saying I owed them a large sum .When they checked their computer "oh you will get four or more bills like this ".How the hell that happened i have no idea.

So a phone call to Telstra monday morning is in order .
And if someone is trying to steal my life you can start tomorrow at 6.30 am when I am back at work :? Now that does give me the shits

Hmmmmmm...it was going to be banks...but now I'm not so sure :axe: ...nah it's still banks

Having spent the last 25 years managing to resist the intense, at times, pressure from our financial institutions to have a credit card I relented a little and allowed my bank to persuade me to change my ATM card to a debit card. The card duly arrived in the post yesterday and takes effect at the end of the month....hooorah....not....you would have thought that considering I have banked with them for almost 30 years it wouldn't be too much to ask for them to spell my name correctly FFS.

Not looking forward to trying to correct this before they cancel my ATM card. Going to my nearest branch (10kms) so I know that I'm talking to a real person, on the same continent, who can hopefully give me answers on the spot in front of a witness/mate...grrrrrrrrrrrr

Regards
JAS

Know how oyu feel JAS.

a)They spelt my name wrong on my card. So I told them, they said they would send a replacement.
Nothing came so I went into the branch and told them. They said they would send a replacement.
Nothing came. Then oneday I had to go into the bank because the ATM machine was broke. When I handed my card over to get the cash, guess what? "sorry Sir but your name on your card doesn't match your name on your account"
Yes, says I, I have told you about it before.
"OK we will let you use it this time but you can't use it again. You need a new card"
Finally got the new card, and low and behold, it has the same bloody spelling on it as the last one
goto a)

Keeping up the regular servicing on the car for 10+ years - spending $500 bucks on the exhaust system just before Christmas and now finding out there is a problem with the head and could be anywhere from 600- 1200 bucks to fix the problem... FFS ... what does one do?? get a good second hand car around 10K and maybe take on someone else's problems - buy a new little car around 15k and cop a massive loss in value in the first couple of years or bite the bullet and just pay the big repair bill now hoping (and keeping fingers crossed) that nothing else major goes wrong in the next couple of years (current k's around 210) have had fuel pump etc down as per book.... any pm's offering suggestions or comments will be welcomed.

How many times on this site must you say that your child gives you the sh!ts ?

He/she is probably just as p!ssed off with you complaining all the time that you'd rather be at a fast food outlet, with hookers or at the racetrack as opposed to spending some time with your child.
