Yes, that's just another bonus of living here. Footy supporters with realistic outlooks.

Teaching my two kids how to play chess over the weekend. Both have taken to it like a duck to water.

Finally after yesterdays preso's the end of the football season, I love it but after 9 months of many many hours, I'm looking forward to doing something different with my time.

It's rewarding, especially when the team achieves some success, but as you pointed out some weeks ago when you were struggling to sleep on a Friday night that people on the sidelines don't always appreciate the toll it takes.

Thinking about drills all week for training, thinking about who plays where and when ( even more so if you have big numbers to juggle ), preparing what you're going to say to the group before games, balancing all this while still being a full time husband, Dad, worker....

Good on you for investing yourself in your kids lives though.

I thought the sleep issue was all about the Roos draft concerns....

Cheers, as I said I love it but until you get involved you never appreciate the full investment it takes and the other areas of your life that take a back seat/suffer.

I take my hat off to those involved at a higher level, finish in October and then start pre-season again in November!

I think the hardest part, without surprise, is game day. You've still got the social aspect at play and saying G'day to everyone, you've got parents wanting to put their 2c worth in ( the good ones are the ones who you don't see at all during the week but corner you on game day ), you're still a Dad to one ( or more ) others wanting a sausage, drink etc, you're sorting out a goal umpire/scorer. It's a very rewarding yet often thankless task.

It’d want to be ice cold........ coz that beer taste like shite otherwise.
At that price I’d still drink it though ;)

Heck I’d drink VB at that price.

It's going down OK purely because it's on tap and iced cold, not many options for Pale Ale here unfortunately. It's much better off the tap ice cold, the bottled versions gives me headaches.
Used to drink Heineken here but gone off it a bit.
Missus is almost on the ground drinking cocktails lol.

Replacing our 40 year old fibreglass pool with a new one. Had 2 quotes to remove old pool, first quote $5.8k to remove pool, coping and pavers. Second quote $2.2k to remove pool only, me to remove (and get rid of) coping, concrete bond beam and pavers.

Thought I'd have a crack myself, outlay so far $63 to hire a pump, $23 for half a dozen blades for my grinder.

6 tonne skip arrives tomorrow for coping bricks and concrete $250. Will need a 4 tonner for pavers $190 and a seperate one for all the fibreglass.
Will be well under $1k to clear site myself.

Hard yakka but winning---

Old one had had it's day MW. Been resurfaced about 20 years ago, surface is now breaking up again leaving sharp edges that will cut your feet. Shell was moving and had stress fractures in 2 corners, uneven floor, time to go.
