People who mispronounce the letter H, especially on TV. Don't TV people take elocution classes these days?

I just asked the guy I share an office with and he said it depends on the situation. If you're just going to day the letter, then its "aitch". If you're saying it with numbers after it eg. a purchase order number H456, it would be "haich"456.

Just thought that was a good point coz after thinking about it, I do the same thing.

That's an interesting call. I've never thought about it that way. I have noticed, however, that some people on the phone don't understand you unless you make the 'huh' sound.

H is H no matter if you're saying it as a letter or an order number IMO! I don't see a reason why you would have it different for each

A Muslim rides a bike to work in Brisbane, and because of his religion, he has to wear a turban, and therefore sees fit that he shouldnt have to wear a helmet. He was given a fine by the police , and has taken it to court. Outcome in a few weeks.

Be very interesting to see the outcome of this.

Against his religion to take off his turban, but australian laws say you must wear a helmet whislt riding a push bike.

it gives me the shits because if he gets away with it, then it it just not fair....

Exactly. I was taught the correct way in school, but most of my family still pronounce it the other way.
