A. Let it ring out and get the 101 message, or return the missed call, once he has finished driving?
B. Pull over in one of the many side streets and then answer the phone?
C. Simply pull over on South Road on a no-standing line (which at that particular section is very narrow, allowing noone to get past who is behind him in his lane, including me) and take his call, effectively holding up about 30 to 40 cars.

If you answered C, you are correct. As I was raising my middle finger towards him in appreciation once I finally managed to get into the other lane and overtake him, I noticed him laughing during his phone conversation. Obviously an important call that couldn't wait...

Cheers

Traditional Adelaide behaviour - the trick is don't indicate too early and give them time to accelerate and block you!
Unfortunately, it is a pattern that is beginning to emerge in Melbourne too - at least in the outer areas. When I first moved here from Adelaide I was amazed at how cooperative people were about letting you change lanes when you indicated.

Agreed - every time I go home to Adelaide, drives me completely mad. Particularly when traffic has come to a stop on the main road, you're on the side road, and people won't let you turn in, but will edge as close as possible to car in front to actively block you. Ridiculous.

People who buy a no frills ticket but don't show, so the bloody plane has to sit on the run way whilst they unload all the bags to check that the missing passengers haven't checked any in, and we finally get away 1 hour late.

Having a bad back.

Interestingly I had a scan which found that I'd had a fracture on one of my vertabra at some point (it is unrelated to this bout of bulging disc though).

The rather scary young lad that's just turned up at the door with a laminated ID card of some sort and a bit of paper saying that he is a 'young offender just released on rehab' who is 'trying to turn his life around' and asking me to let him come in for a chat 8-[ Errrrrrrrrr I don't bloody think so.

Don't get me wrong, if the lad is genuinely trying to improve his life then I wish him every success. But I don't think that going door-to-door telling peolpe that you are a criminal and asking them to let you into their home is the way to do it. I have no idea if he and the documents he had are genuine as there's been no notification of a scheme like this. If they are real then I'd love to know what pillock on the council or whatever thought it was a good idea. I think there will be quite a few rather frightened elderly people around here today.

Regards
JAS

Police pulling* people over on a main road in peak hour traffic and sitting the police car a metre or more from the gutter.

If the bloke is on his phone, and you must pull him* over, please Mr.Orrifecer jesture him to go round the corner of the first side street to give him the expiation notice he so desperatly deserves!

(No,it wasn't me getting pulled* over, just what I had to endure on Grand junction Rd today)

OPTUS-As we speak I have been on the phone for an hour and a half (so far) and have only just got to the right department!

All I wanted to do is speak to Wireless broadband billing to see why I havent received a bill yet,

I have been transferred to no less than 7 different departments, 3 of which Ive waited in queue for more than 20 mins. I have spoken to 2 team leaders one of which I waited 10 mins to speak to (both based in the Phillipines) who were not interested and wouldn't answer my questions as to why it was so hard to be transferred to the right dept except to say that Optus is a big company...

I have been hung up on twice. and as we speak Im being transferred an eighth time! Oh did I mention that every time I get transferred I have had to confirm ID and explain my story, which is getting longer and longer... each time!

I am now getting REALLY pissed off with this... to their credit, I have been an Optus customer for 11 years and never really had a problem. Today however, more than makes up for all that... :? :?
