From the local paper

"Swanny" Rescued from Uncertain Future
--------------------------------------
Despite facing temporary closure this month, the Swan Reach Hotel could
be back in business as soon as this week, with a new manager appointed
to the facility last Wednesday.

The popular drinking hole, owned by Adelaide-based company J&AG
Johnston Ltd, closed its doors last Tuesday after lease holders went
into voluntary administration following more than 18-months of revenue
losses. The hotel's closure alarmed locals, who had also farewelled the
now defunct Berri Club just months earlier.

Mr Burgess said the hotel's closure - just days before the inaugural
Swan Reach Country Music Festival – had come at a time when the
community needed it most. “I think it is just disappointing morale-wise
for the district because you have got the music festival happening and
the progress association is quite active in trying to rebuild the
town...” he said.
