Sorry mate, bollocks.
Go talk to soccer players in Europe about what being called a "monkey" means.
Have a look at the vision from the tour of India which shows the crowds harassing Symonds with monkey chants which could be for no other reason than him being black.
"How come monkey between kangaroos".
Funny how when it was happening over there in India it was offensive and racist and the Indians should be ashamed of their actions and their board should be ashamed of covering it up.
I can't see how the feeling changed between then and Symonds claiming Harbijhan had done it again.

Furthermore, the boos continue as the whole situation again reflected India's arrogance towards the game.

Actually, here's something to add to this list of things which sh*t me.

The BCCI stepping in and saying Australia would be sorry if it called off the tour to Pakistan and that they should face sanctioning if they do. This coming just a month after the Indians had threatened to call off their Australian tour half way through if they didn't get the umpire they wanted and all charges against Angel Harbi dropped.

DW, do not get me wrong. I certainly do not condone racism. However, unlike people who seem to be 'politically correct' and think that the only harrassment that matters is racial, I do not condone any harrassment. Why should Harbi calling Roy a 'mother-fuc***' as the excuse ended up being not be as bad as racism? Why can you call a person 'gay', a 'fat cun*', a 'sheila', or any other derogatory term you like and this be totally condoned? What the 'political correct' people are actually saying by doing this is that the worst thing in life is not being white. Is this not really racism itself? You are saying that you can have anything else going against you and that is fine, but there is nothing worse in the world than being told you are 'not white'.

Oh, and that is totally different to the Australian arrogance in the 70's when Australia ruled cricket, destroyed it as we knew it then and developed 'pyjama cricket' all in the name of profit for Channel 9 and Kerry Packer?

That was Packer doing that in the 70's, how can you say it was Australian cricket ruining the game..it was one media man doing it not the ACB..

I've never given it any thought actually and dont see how its relevant to the current situation, but the BCCI isn't as far as i know a private concern, and they're the ones making threats about Australia if they dont tour Pakistan.

Agreed, the BCCI has no right making threats regarding a tour that does not involve their own country.

IMHO India's influence is purely down to thier financial muscle. India contributr 3/4rds of the toal funding to the BCCI and because of that fact they pressurised the BCCI to remove Bucknor and then got thier way on the suspension.

Bloody disgraceful and just goes to show that if you have the money you have the control and by having control your players can come out with racial abuse and get away with it. You can be sure of one thing, had the situation been reversed, the Indians would be screaming bloody murder and Australia would be missing one player.

Adelaide drivers who do not let you change lanes when you have your indicator on. Got stuck behind a broken down truck on the left hand lane of Cross Road for what seemed like an eternity this morning. Tried to switch to the right hand lane but the first seventy or so cars simply did not slow down to provide an opportunity. Thanks to the driver who eventually did let me in.

Traditional Adelaide behaviour - the trick is don't indicate too early and give them time to accelerate and block you!
Unfortunately, it is a pattern that is beginning to emerge in Melbourne too - at least in the outer areas. When I first moved here from Adelaide I was amazed at how cooperative people were about letting you change lanes when you indicated.

People who barge onto trains, elevators and especially trams before the
everyone else gets off them.
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

A bloke this afternoon obviously received a phone call while driving along a fairly busy South Road, and must not have wanted to answer it while driving. Does he:
A. Let it ring out and get the 101 message, or return the missed call, once he has finished driving?
B. Pull over in one of the many side streets and then answer the phone?
C. Simply pull over on South Road on a no-standing line (which at that particular section is very narrow, allowing noone to get past who is behind him in his lane, including me) and take his call, effectively holding up about 30 to 40 cars.

If you answered C, you are correct. As I was raising my middle finger towards him in appreciation once I finally managed to get into the other lane and overtake him, I noticed him laughing during his phone conversation. Obviously an important call that couldn't wait...

Mitsubishi telling us that we are made redundant BUT we must stay back for up to 18 months to decommission factory and can't leave yet. They will give us 8 weeks warning on date we finish, so we can't really start applying for work just yet and if we want to leave now it will be without our redundancy payment as trade workers are still required!! Don't get me wrong I want to stay on but if I get a job offer I will want to go.

weird...not exactly looking after the best interests of the employers....looks like your union has dropped the ball here also

At NAB a back office area is going through the same thing with a finish date in late March but if they find other employment they are being released now with full entitlements, this has been happening since december when announced...
