http://firstaid.about.com/od/bleedingco ... staxis.htm2. Lean forward, not back. Don't try to protect a favorite shirt by leaning back. The blood needs to go somewhere and will most likely go down the throat. If the victim leans back, blood could get in the windpipe causing a blocked airway, or go into the stomach. Blood may irritate the stomach lining and cause the victim to vomit.
NG, go to a normal doctor and get your nose cortised (sp? ie; have cortisone stuck up your nose, don't worry, it's not injection form), the walls of your nasal cavity are probably that thin now, you'll continue to get them, and blowing your nose excessively, or excessivley hard will just make it worse.
Also, when you are having a blood nose, have an ice pack or 2 handy, one to put on the back ofyour neck and one to put on the front, as this will slow down the blood flow to your nose.
It seemed to work for me, unfortunately now my sinuses are that bad that I'm going for another scan next tuesday to determine whether I go in for operation no.3
