Agreed, my old man has been driving taxis for nigh on 25 years and he doesn't refuse any fare. He does get frustrated about the job when people want to go just down the road but he still takes them on principle as taxis should take people anywhere they want to go. I can't stress enough that taxi drivers that refuse fares should be reported to the Taxi Board.

If you don't want to move take a lift!

I hate people that get behind me on escalators and huff and puff and make snide comments because I'm not running up the stairs. Until I move my walking stick out enough for them to see it.

Actually I don't hate it. It cracks me up.

Wedgie wrote:Probably my no 1 hate: People who don't know how to "Keep Left Unless Overtaking" in 80km/hr + rds where its clearly marked.

That hasn't applied on SA roads for a few years. The law used to be on roads of 80 km or over but since we adopted the Australian Road Rules to confirm with the backward eastern states it reads for speed limits of over 80km/hour.

This is a good one for winning the occassional beer (or in my case a Diet Coke).

ARR Rule #
130 Keeping to the left on a multi-lane road

(1) This rule applies to a driver driving on a multi-lane road if:

(a) the speed-limit applying to the driver for the length of road where the driver is driving is over 80 kilometres per hour; or

(b) a keep left unless overtaking sign applies to the length of road where the driver is driving.

Looking back at your post it reads "80km/hr + rds" so it can be argued that you meant limits over 80kph so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

One thing I really hate is being tailgated and abused by smart arses who don't know the rules.
Actually I don't hate it. It cracks me up. And I'm looking forward to my specialist letting me drive again so I can spend all day driving up and down South Road in the right lane at 79kph. 8)

I was talking about roads that are clearly signposted (Keep Left Unless Overtaking).
The Expressway being my main gripe.

Mind you even if Im in a 60 zone and Im going slower than others I'll move to the left out of courtesy.

Tailgating is dangerous, stupid and illegal but if people were more courteous on the road (or in the case of the Expressway abided by the law) then most of it wouldn't happened.

I am always irritated by self-appointed vigilantes [little Hitlers!] who think they have the right/duty to prevent me breaking the law if some minor way, even though they may be creating more danger in doing so than I would be. Common courtesy says that if someone wants to pass, and you can safely allow them to, you do - on the roads or the escalator - their action is between them and the law.

On the same principle, if I am doing less than the speed limit because I think the road is unsafe at the limit, as I sometimes do, I don't obstruct those who think otherwise. I am not into pushing other people around for fun or self-aggrandisment.

This morning about 3am, a neighbour a few doors down from my place decided he and his mates would set up his drum set and electric guitars, keyboard and do a some live music for at least an hour and dance on the street (Diagonal Rd). The music sound quiet good but not at 3am in the bloody morning when I am in the land of nod.
