To quote Bridget Fonda from the movie Jackie Brown "That was fun".

Supposedly Gawler is meant to come back on around 5am tomorrow so hopefully Nuri won't be too long after.

All because of some infrastructure damage at Port Augusta.

Not sure when ours came back on as I read till just after 9 and went to sleep, great to get more than 8 hours sleep for a change, feel great today!
A few horror stories at work this morning from people that work later than me, I was very lucky I was out of town and at the pub when the power went off! Early knock off FTW!

Did I sleep through the storm or is it still coming?

By time I got home, worked out how to open the electric gate, went down to North Haven Foodland (which was open, running on generators) to get something easy to cook for tea, made burgers and chicken fingers, ate by candlelight with the Mrs, our power was back on.

Wasn't a big deal for us at all. Still got 4 games of NCAA Football 12 in before bed.

Thats the thing isnt it. The state came back from a black start in 4 - 6 hrs. Obviously there are still areas without power but, not too bad.

We loved it, despite having a fully charged portable charger that fuilly charge's a phone 4 times from zero we told everyone that messaged us that we can't waste our phone battery unless it was an emergency.
We put our phones away, talked, went for a 5km run, lit a heap of candles and had some champers in the bath, managed to cook some salmon served with a garden salad.
It was funny watching people freak out in Woolies, arguing over candles and shit.

Sounds like a good night! I wasn't bothered by the black out, worse things can happen - and we were lucky we have a gas stove so dinner wasn't an issue but eating by candlelight was a tad romantic haha!

Probably the best sleep I've had in ages as well haha!

We lit a heap of tea light candles, used the gas stove to cook dinner, the family then had our nightly game of UNO Deluxe (which I won) we all then had our head torches on reading books and chatting... the boys went to bed at 8:30 and 8:45 the lights came back on...

The only issue we had was you couldn't easily tell the difference between the blue and green UNO cards... Not sure how we survived

It was, we were disappointed when the power came back on, we have kid-free Wednesday nights so nothing can deflate us, I emptied my sock drawer and continually hid pinging rolled up socks at her as she came out of different rooms.

I went the tea candle option too. It was hilarious watching my nearly 2 year old daughter running around the house and singing Happy Birthday to all the candles and trying to blow them out.
