Easily the best steak pie I've ever had...and I've had a few over the years. The blueberry turnover was damned fine too. Also came with a view...sitting out back on the cliff edge looking out over the Murray. Definitely plan to revisit even if I have to walk there :tonqe: :D

Reckon that would be Waikerie? My missus comes from there and used to work in that bakery. Tis definitely a good bakery that one!

Heard a few bad stories about that place and hasn't been much chop every time I've been there. Can't complain about the view though!

St Peter's Bakery is worth stopping in at just to have a look at the girls behind the counter.

Kiplings at Pt Wakefield is very good, as is Gawler South Bakery. Will put a plug in for Fabulous Baker Boys in Montague Farm at Pooraka as well, friends of mine own it and their choc donuts are quality.

I've heard a Wakey resident actually comment how good the new bakery in town's pies are (Pie King I think it's called), it's just on the entry of town coming from Adelaide.

I'm lucky enough that St. Peters is one of my local bakerys ( because I live in Norwood for those not aware :) ) and it is certainly an added bonus that.

The service is fantastic and they do great food and coffee. Pretty much go there 2 or 3 times week, including the weekend.

Cowell bakery has far and away the best pies and especially sausage rolls ive ever eaten. Anyone thats ever going to Pt Lincoln (or even Whyalla) make sure you take a detour to the Cowell bakery. Before you know it you'll have downed 5 sausage rolls with no sign of stopping.

Mclaren Vale bakery would be 2nd. Great pies, perfect pastry and some interesting pies as well.....stuff like Garlic Prawn is a winner (not on the breath though).

Pt Elliot have one of the best in terms of taste but do they still serve their pies in those foil bases? Usually ends up a hassle to eat without it ending a mess.

St Peters would be the best ive tried in Adelaide.

Theres a new place that opened up about 3 weeks ago in Sevenhill in Clare called 'The Little Red Grape' which bake the most incredible breads ive come across. The White Sourdough is a dead set winner.

Agreed.
Great place there. I used to work down the end of Dulwich Avenue, and go there every day. Didn't want to change jobs!
I love 'Food and Stuff'. It's where I buy all of my food. And most of my stuff.
