78.8% of patients in ICU are unvaccinated. 7.5% of NSW 12yr+, have not had a single vaccine shot.
21.2% of patients in ICU have had at least 1 shot, but 92.5% of NSW 12yr+ are double vaccinated.

Pretty obvious why it's beneficial to get the jab.

Steady on these type of stats dont support the conspiracy theorists...

On the contrary - it shows that 1/5 vaccinated people are still at risk of ending up in ICU :P

Even Donald's on board with the vaccine:

Former US President Donald Trump has revealed he received a booster shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, prompting boos from an audience

I'm not a maths guru but that's not correct. There are 12.3 people vaccinated to every 1 that is not vaccinated, yet only 1 in 5 in ICU are vaccinated. Que a mathematician to calculate the correct chances based on that.

I see Covid only still exists in hospitality industries and small to medium businesses and avoids the big retailers in coles, Woolworths and Bunnings.
Coincidence I’m sure.

Give it another couple of weeks and the cases will be so high they can't list all the sites those cases have visited.
That's the point we need to get to.
Then the general public are safe from being sent to isolation and it will only be your true close contacts, like family and friends that you spend extended time in close contact with, not the random you happened to walk past inside a bakery.

couple of weeks? we are at that point already. we had over 100 cases yesterday, and they added something like 5 exposure sites? and that was the first exposure site update since saturday?

they are already too busy to keep up with it all

Fine....

NSW has over 18,700 active cases as of last night.
NSW has less than 40 people in ICU.
Dissecting a subset of the wider community which represents 0.2% of the active cases is statistically flawed.

But manipulating stats to align with our own personal bias is exactly what this thread it built on, so in the interests of continuing to push out the misinformation, lets do it.

When 7.5% of the population (the unvaxxed) represent 78.8% of the ICU patients, you could say they are overrepresented by a factor of 10.5 (ie: 78.8/7.5).

Then again, you could look at it from the other side and say that 21.2% of the ICU cases come from 92.5% of the population (double jabbed), and therefore they are underrepresented by a factor of 0.77 (ie: 1-(21.2/92.5)).

Or you could really twist the stats, like Jo did a couple of pages back:

jo172 wrote:NSW seems instructive on the vacs.

33 people in the ICU, 26 of them unvaccinated. Given only 6.6% are unvaccinated, but they make up 78.8% of the cases in the ICU it would seem that you're 52 times more likely to end up in the ICU if you are unvaccinated.

70% of the time, I'm right 100% stats are good

It's changed how my family is going out, just doing essential things and no meandering. Don't want to have to isolate for Christmas. I'm hoping to not get caught out by flying and being in wrong place at wrong time.

I can see why people are not QR code checking though, don't want to be forced to isolate. Tricky situation. The next week will be interesting to see how numbers progress.

Even the kids are thinking like this now, they always go to Ramsgate Xmas Eve, get there before noon to get in, huge day/night.

Probably not going now as don't want to risk getting stuck in isolation for Xmas, giving it to elderly grand parents on Xmas Day, etc.

Very mature approach - not great for businesses though with so many thinking along similar lines.

If the Rammy is as good on Christmas Eve as it was back in the day, it's worth the risk ;)
