Most teachers arrive at 8. Kids are there. Kids are still waiting around for various reasons till 4. Most teachers are still there.

So would most teachers, 37.5 hours of T&D is compulsory per year outside of school time, whether that be after work/weekends/holidays. During the last week and a half of holidays, I've spent a day around learning new strategies to aid kids with Autism, as well as spending two days restructuring my classroom, and hours here and there doing planning around my curriculum for next term. I'm not complaining about this. It's part of the job, just not part of the unfortunate stereotype. I enjoy working with kids (as 99% of teachers do), but to say my days are easy because I enjoy it would be a long way from the truth.heater31 wrote:Pag wrote:Because it's the fault of the teachers that the Federal Government have chosen to implement the National Curriculum, which requires another four days of training & development during 2012.Dutchy wrote:Teachers having a pupil free day next Monday. FFS...
Those damn teachers, how dare they do what they're told.
What is wrong with doing it during the term break? My sister is a teacher and has already given up 1 day of her term break for some god only knows 'development' days....

I get your point, but I'd be loathe to belittle anyone who fights for vital corporate interests.
