Would have said "you refused the extras, we will play our full team" his loss!

That's the rule in the NEMJFA.

Our under 10 umpire allowed the opposition tackle then dump the kids to the ground instead of tackle an hold. One of our kids just about got knocked out and couldnt play the second half as he was dumped on his head. When challenged the umpire just said "Im the umpire, I know the rules, I will have you excluded from the ground if you say another word". Nothing nasty was said to him (no swearing or angry comments) just "you know its tackle and hold". The boy in orange was on a power trip.

Terrible fixture through the bye rounds

Why have two games overlap......utter stupidity.

Channel 7 would have asked for the Melb/GWS to start at 3ish VIC time so it would run into the news. The Crows game was the usual foxtel twilight match.

I agree the programming was dumb (should have had Melb game start no later than 2ish) but when you let the TV networks dictate programming to suit their desires this is what you're left with.

Seeing the Country Championships at Berri this weekend use the soccer tradition of red and yellow cards. And having the umpires throw the ball up because they don't have skills to bounce it. Weak as p1ss

Why should I FFS? I don't pretend to be an official or umpire. All I'm alluding to is that umpires should be encouraged to adopt the skills of the game - eg bouncing the ball - and stop squibbing out because they lack the ability

have said it before plenty of times and so have others -

People who drive in the right hand lane, UNDER the speed limit, knowing they are holding up the traffic behind them, and wont move to the left, and give you the finger or stare you down when you undertake them as if they are saying they arent doing anything wrong.
Road rule - on a road or highway/motorway that has a speed limit of over 80kms an hour, you must not drive in the right hand lane unless overtaking or in an emergency to miss a accident etc. Driving in the right hand lane for long periods is a road hazard and you lose 2 demerit points + a fine if caught. Check it out, for those who do this!!!! . Undertaking is against the law also, but what do you do when someone is also breaking the law sitting in the right hand lane being arrogant and saying to themselves - i was here first so bad luck

I dont speed, but i do the speed limit, unlike a lot of people who dont know this simple road rule!!

keep friggen LEFT unless overtaking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if there was lanes marked and you overtook on the left how would it be undertaking?

The law also states you must drive as near as practicable to the left hand side of the road. For roads without lanes marked and the limit is 80 (in 80 zones you only have to keep left if it is sign posted telling you to) or below in most cases this will allow room to pass on the RH side of you, so many people seem to think it is ok to hug the centre line, it's not, just as it's not ok to squeeze down the left when there is only 1 lane

It's more of a consistency thing, AFL umpires are employed full-time therefore they have the time on their hands to perfect it, wouldn't you rather see consistent ball ups and consistent decisions.
If that gives you the shits you should get out more mate.

I'd rather the umpire throw it up, than the ball bouncing in every direction.

What is with the bounce anyway?

We talk about skills of the game but it is largely an irrelevant skill, just throw the friggin thing in the air. Quicker, fairer, takes the error out of it.

Sure, at AFL level, SANFL even, encourage it, but country footy, ball it up.

undertaking - passing a car/bus/truck in the left lane when that car/bus/truck is in the right lane is against the law, check it out. Safety reason as we/you/them dont expect a person to pass you on the left hand side of your car/bus/truck

Where do you live Bully? If it is in Australia or NZ I think you need to "check it out"

In both Aus and NZ it is perfectly legal to undertake (or overtake on the LH side) on multi lane roads or when the vehicle you are passing is indicating to turn right.

This is not the case in a lot of countries but here it is, perhaps you could go the the Legislation SA website and have a read of the Road Traffic Act and Regs and familiarise yourself with the rules you are supposed to be obeying when driving on our roads, everyone driving to the same ones would make life a lot easier and safer instead of using another countries rules.....................

Undertaking or overtaking on the inside[1][2][3] refers to the practice of overtaking a slower vehicle on a road using the lane that is kerb side of the vehicle being passed; that is to say, a lane to the left of the vehicle in countries where driving is on the left, or a lane to the right of the vehicle in countries where driving is on the right (see Right- and left-hand traffic). The practice of undertaking, therefore, may only usually occur on a motorway or other road where there is more than one lane in the same direction or when the width of the roads makes this possible (although there may be exceptions in the cases of contraflow bus lanes).

Many countries consider undertaking dangerous and therefore designate it a driving offence, however most countries make the distinction between involuntary undertaking (passing centre side vehicles in heavy traffic) as opposed to the deliberate attempt to pass a slower moving vehicle for one's own benefit.

[edit] Legal status by country
Australia and New Zealand - Undertaking, or "overtaking to the left", is legal on multi-lane roads, or where a car is indicating to turn right. [2]

serious? you set your cruise control through there? you would have had to reset it a lot, with all the braking that you would have done...unless you were very lucky & got a dream run.
