In Aussie Rules you can only get a goal off your foot.
In SOCCER you can get a goal off your foot, your chest, your head..hell even your arse. So which one is the 'real' football ??? ;)

umm what planet are you on?? Knee, leg, shin for a goal in AFL.

FOOTball is called using the foot. Not handballing the ball ;)

both forms of the game have other ways of using the ball and both called football

Mate, you are way off the mark. There were about 8 or 9 100 point losses in the AFL in 2011.

How many mind numbing 0-0 draws were there in the A-League?

Sorry but this is not an AFL Fourm. It is predominantly an Aussie Rules forum (with specific boards to discuss other sports, such as cricket and soccer). AFL is a league, just like SANFL is a league. you arent doing yourself any favours by trying to paint most of the posters on this forum with the same brush. i would suggest that you would be in the vast minority of posters on this site that dont follow aussie rules in any way.

meanwhile i respect your point of view, but i cant say that i agree, i have given soccer a go on several occasions, but just cant seem to get into watching it. it isnt for me, but obviously others love the game, and good on them. using the "world game" argument though is invalid. the Iphone is the most popular smartphone out there at the moment, however that doesnt make it the best phone on the market. i am quite happy with Aussie Rules not being played in all countries of the world. it means that we can access it quite easily, and not have to try to follow "our" teams from the other side of the world.

hang on, where did i say you werent entitled to yor opinion? being a bit defensive arent we? did you read my whole post?

i corrected your statement that this is an AFL forum, which it isnt. then i just said i respect your point of view, but disagree, and then gave my reason, and a reason i like aussie rules more. i also said that others obviously like soccer and that is good. i never stated any negative opinion about soccer, just that i didnt like it, and that your argument about it being a "world game" does not mean it is better, just more popular.

sorry for actually trying to discuss the point, rather than just continuing the "your sport sucks" theme. maybe you should actually read peoples responses before getting all defensive, i never stated you were wrong, just that i disagree, i am allowed to disagree arent i? when the topic is about peoples opinions, none of us can be wrong, just different.

also i am not the one that has come onto an aussie rules forum and tried to tell eveyone that is on there that it is a sh*t game. i really dont see what reaction you were after, other than the one you got. you are either extreemely naive/stupid, or just flat out trolling. i am going with the latter, and well done too, you have generated many upset responses with your obvious trolling. you win the troll of the post award =D>

if you read previous posts there champ, you will see that i was NOT the one to start the topic on soccer is boring. I was mearly responding as i am quite allowed to on a PUBLIC forum. It was started that soccer is boring and who wants to sit there and watch a nil all draw. I was responding to why would anyone want to watch a team lose by 100 points or near enough to it.
and the question was asked by others....why dont I ask 100 people on here which sport is better???

Why would i on a dominate forum for Aussie rules football ask 100 people which sport is better??

I didnt come down in the last shower

so maybe read the facts first ;)

no you didnt start it, but you have continued it. what response were you really after? you could have made your post defending soccer, and left it at that. instead you have attacked everyone that has either said soccer is boring, or that have defended aussie rules. of course the majority of people signed up to this forum will think soccer is the more boring sport than aussie rules, but how else do you find your 100 people. however you decide your 100, there will be bias in the group. it is an invalid argument. personally i dont see why there in an argument at all, the poll is based purely on opinion, and therefore none of us are actually wrong.

you also attacked my post, which while i said i dont like soccer, i also said that you were entitled to your opinion, and that i just disagreed (not that you were wrong) it seems that while you have the right to post negative opinion about Aussie Rules, we dont have the right to post negative opinion about soccer. interesting isnt it?

and the Aussie rules supporters attcking me ??/
i have never said anyone is wrong, just responding to a post that said soccer is boring in what i found boring

again...that goes un noticed.
No one is correct, and no one is wrong. It will never be settled.

But before we all get in trouble we should stop on which sport is boring more

Just for the record, and to hopefully keep this discussion brewing, there have only been 6 nil all draws in A-League games this season.

I for one appreciate both sports and if played to a high standard a nil all draw can be a cracking match but to each there own.

I voted Swimming as my most boring sport.
