Just flicking through channels and saw your pitch on Better Homes and Gardens. Looks really good.

Photos as promised!

Nearly getting to the stage we put down the first lick of paint. But still a little way off where we want to be yet...

On another note we purchased a concrete roller today, just waiting to pick it up!

Bloody hell - what has backyard cricket come to???

In my day, grass had yet to be invented, so it was the driveway. The usual taped tennis ball to get a bit of swing, but the pitch was a bit one-paced. Big bro came up with the brain wave - toss a handfall of small rocks "at a good length". Worked a treat, although don't think anyone played off the front foot ever again!

We had 3 batsmen per innings. The opener batted preferred hand. The "middle order" alternated btw left & right, and the tail ender batted non-preferred hand.

Night games came with a rockless pitch, but a bright spotty just behind bowler. If you couldn't see the pill, you knew it had to be throat level.

Ah! The final piece of the jigsaw puzzle is complete!

Nice pics.

I am yet to restart my pitch, although now the honeymoon is over, I expect more time on my hands.

I also have the issue of having two border collies in my back yard, which will make things hard. Ack!

Managed to get the pitch cut to game height yesterday for the first time this year.

I've been trimming and rolling it periodically for about three weeks now and it's nearing playability, barring some grass coverage issues in certain areas.

Another week of rolling/cutting/watering and it should be good to go by Saturday I reckon.

You can see in the first image what I started with after a disastrous winter period, til now.
