We have to pay for our entire wedding ourselves.

Everything is so expensive.

Everyone wants deposits and everytime we save up a good amount to hopefully earn interest we have to pay something else.

Wished i had eloped..

That's exactly why we did a cocktail reception. No sit down meals, just everyone standing around drinking and eating finger food. For our mob it worked well. I think the price was about 30 a head including drinks for 4 hours (might be 5 hours, can't remember).

We felt that sit down receptions were "stuffy" and it meant we were sitting up there like stunned mullets with everyone gawking at us the entire time. We wanted more of a party. So that option worked brilliantly for us.

Doing the exact same thing in april. In mildura about $30 a head. to expensive in adelaide.

Got married and had the reception at Longview Winery in Macclesfield. Was an absolutely amazing night.
Wedding Song was - U Got it bad by Usher

The meals were about $80 a head for 3 courses and a 7 hour drinks package was about $40 a head. So about $120 a head and we had about 100 people there. Think the whole wedding inclduing flowers, cake, dress, suits etc would have been between $35 - $40k. We had been saving for a little while and the parents paid for about half so wasn;t too bad. Was one of the most incredible days and night of my life and those memories are priceless.
