there is also some point of the nut cases out there. Nearly once a week you hear about a kid getting molested, some parents see it to dangerous to let kids out like they use too.

I reckon most of the cases of molestation we are hearing about actually occured in the 60's, 70's and 80's and they're just coming to light now. Im not saying it doesnt happen anymore though.

There is large percentage where the victims knows the perpetrator..make sure you pick good friends.

That the whole 'germs are bad' 'you must not fall out of a tree' ' you must not have fun' is a load of bollocks?

In about 1954 a relieving Cubmaster made an attempt to grope one of my mates at the hall.
A small group of us nicked out for supplies and came back and pelted him with tomatoes.
He was thrown out, but so were we. There was never any form of public discussion of the event.

Such incidents occurred - they were just dealt with differently.
One other "dirty old man" I recall suffered a nightly cascade of rocks on his roof for a long time.
Some got dealt with by older brothers or irate fathers.

I found things that I dont even remember having in the first place. Depends what it is, and if its likely the cats had an opportunity to mess with it. Things like lollies will always get a look in.

Having said that, if any dairy is on or just after its "best before" date...STRAIGHT IN THE BIN!!!

Just checked the milk and cream in my fridge. Cream use by apr02 still tastes fine and I will be putting on strawberries tomorrow night. Milk date up last Monday but also is fine. I take everything except raw chicken and pork past the use by dates

My experience with is that Bulla Pure Cream is fine for several days past its "use by" date, but milk rarely lives past its date.

Use by dates are arbitrary and usually companies play safe and put conservative dates on things.
However, the handling at supermarkets is variable - the time between leaving the refrigerated truck and entering the cold room can be critical.
I occasionally find frozen meals with pockets of ice in them suggesting they have been out long enough to partially thaw before hitting the supermarket's freezer.

I'm not lactose intolerant, I drink loads of milk, but I always chuck the milk out on the date that is stamped on the bottle.

I've had milk cause a swift "evacuation" ( well at least thats what I think it was ) before, so I dont risk it anymore.

Some would say don't chuck milk when you can ferment it to make a delightful range of products or beverages! ;)

Personally I go by the taste test, and I'm not much into any of those products.

I had a milk round about 12 years ago. Providing milk/cream was properly refrigerated it would last up to a week past it's used by date. Don't let the used by date put you off people.
Also, when shopping, always grab your dairy from the back of the fridge. If the supermarkets/milkies are rotating stock correctly, the use by date should be a bit later.
