Ordering a pc game via a marketplace seller on Amazon very late yesterday afternoon and having it drop onto the mat about 2 minutes ago  ...pretty good going considering the company is way down south in Essex...about 650 miles.

Ah but it's all relative or something. That's one end of the country to the other for us and with a population of around 62million our roads might not allow for a 'steady' drive to reach here in 9 hours  Even the train, which is how I used to get home on leave to about the distance, takes about 11 hours.

I'm guessing they managed to get it onto the post plane which flies into the other RAF camp a few miles up the road at about 1 or 2am every night. Was still a nice surprise after months of wildcat postal strikes around the country :D

Just for comparison I also ordered a book at exactly the same time and also on the Amazon site and requested the same 'standard delivery' postage rate...this one IS being sent by road and probably too late for the final leg today so hopefully will arrive tomorrow judging by the tracking service...

02/12/2009 00:00:00 WEB CUSTOMER The parcel data has been received
03/12/2009 12:42:00 PRIME SORT The parcel has been sorted at our hub
04/12/2009 12:44:00 INVERNESS DEPOT The parcel has been received into depot

Now you can see why I was so pleased at how fast the other one arrived ;)

No....The owner wasn't home so we rang directory assitance and got a mobile number and spoke to his wife.
She was very grateful to 'a son' and we left it 'hidden' at the front of their house.

I told him just think about all that good karma going to come your way O:)
