This latest outbreak due to people coming in from Argentina due to compassionate reasons.

On a general level, although harsh don't think anyone should be given these exemptions. Sure, you feel sorry for the families, but we are in a pandemic and this is just part of it. They show people on the News wanting to get home to see dying relatives weekly.

Problem is by allowing it, now millions of people are affected thru no fault of their own, instead of just the families that are obviously doing it tough. As hard as it is, don't think any exemptions to return to Australia should be granted as all our outbreaks are due to this.

Or we could do quarantine for overseas arrivals correctly and safely rather than this hotel debacle.

We should be looking at ways to open up and not hide on our little island.

Why is it that someone can travel half way around the world to see dying relatives, but we cant travel interstate for the same reason? :(

"Good news" is close contact rather than community transmission.

"Bad news" is he has been out and about so expect exposure sites to grow.

10am presser should have details.

Couldn't agree more.

Happy to accept its not the same but there is technology out there now, we have never been closer to family all across the world whilst be in our loungeroom.

Like you said all a sudden millions are now going to be affected even when they live over 200km away

Didn’t Captain Kirkpatrick say the person was already in quarantine?

What Doc means is they were out and about when "infectious" prior to going into isolation as a close contact. The test result confirming Covid has come after going into iso.

It's better news as Doc says that they are a known close contact.
