If you want a good chuckle, and you're down South one day, head to the Seaford KFC drivethrough and place an order. Any order you like, and then take bets with the rest of the people in your car as to how many parts of it will be wrong.

On the occasions I go there, and order a three piece feed, substituting the potato and gravy for coleslaw. The feed also has a drink as part of it. Nothing more complicated than that. Variations of the order over the years:

- Three pieces of chicken, with no coleslaw
- Three pieces of chicken, with both potato and gravy AND coleslaw
- Two pieces of chicken, with potato and gravy still present
- Three pieces of chicken, but no chips, BUT with both P&G and coleslaw, and a drink, but only when reminding them of the drink.
- Two pieces of chicken, a drink, chips, but no P&B or coleslaw
- On a great day, three pieces of boneless chicken (which I dislike), no drink, two lots of chips and P&G.

There are plenty I'm forgetting. Suffice to say, I'm willing to wager that there is more chance there of being served by Gordon Ramsay, than there is of a complete order being correct in its entirety.
Can you guess where I'm calling from, the Las Vegas Hilton...

That I do understand ... let's just say the fossil fuel industry can be a tad influencial

Well, yes, perhaps I was being a little naive.
Still crap IMO.

I'm with you ... all new homes should have some form of water and power sustainability.

Imagine if solar rebates were increased so that they were affordable by the majority?

Imagine if the dollars that have been invested in clean coal research (as a PR con because it will never happen) were diverted to increase solar rebates?

Sorry, I'm dreaming again ... :ymdaydream:

I'll preface this by saying I don't know the ins and outs of the solar industry, so if I wrong, happy for someone to point it out. I think Australia has missed a great opportunity to advance itself technologically over the last 15 years in this area and be a world leader in high-tech manufactures in the area. Instead, we have been overpaying people to mine our minerals who in turn have overpaid for real estate, and we call this "economic growth."

Regarding water, everyone household should have a minimum 7000lt water tank to take care of drinking and kitchen use, and the rest could easily be supplied by stormwater run-off with some small reliance on the Murray during this time of year.

and the fact we have the biggest stock of uranium yet no nuclear power plants.

Australia mines material and sells it to Asia in a truck and they sell it back to us in a bottle for 100x the price.

For a moment last night I thought I must have just awoken from a coma,I asked Mrs. and Junior Boon's if that was the case; "Have I just awoken from a coma?", somewhat surprised as they say "No" with a puzzled look upon their face.

"Why?" they ask. Well, for one, I just couldn't believe that this person was running our country? WTF happened?

What happened was that everyone (electorate, media and ALP) realised that Krudd was a dud.

How things could be that bad you need to end your life.

A fellow westies member did this yesterday and i don't understand it.

It's a mental deficiency that allows for this behaviour, many times you think you should bash someone, hurt yourself etc, but you don't go through with the actions because your brain prevents you!

Sort of like an illness, just no real early symptoms in certain occasions!

At a time when authorities warn people to evacuate/keep away from Nth Queensland, breakfast tv hosts (Sunrise, TODAY) make their way up there.

I was thinking the same thing

I thought - oh they'll report from 'somewhere' in Queensland, but they're actually in the 'danger zones'.
Pretty silly really.

They just said something about bunking down in one of the hotels that is fully booked out and has food and water to cover several days.
But still.
