Original "Test Match" game

Postby MW » Tue Mar 16, 2010 9:06 pm

Hi all, I was wondering what people thought the value of an original "Test Match" board game would be worth?

It has all original parts including ball...

Thoughts?

Had plenty of fun with that game as a kid...

I reckon you might get $50 - $80...

Put it on eBay and find out!

MW, i don't think that's the original (in the sense of board cricket games), there was one that was out (may still be on the shelves) well before this one, on this one there was 2 hiddens windows one for the bowler & one for the batsmen, the bowler would slide around a handle to 1st ball & up to 8 balls (8 ball overs back then) & whatever came up on the hidden window the batsman had to slide his handle to that delivery ie yorker, bumper, googly etc etc .....anyone apart from mal & i old enough to remember it ? i reckon it came in a green colored box

Heh heh - got them both in my classroom for rainy days. Had the plastic Test Match as a kid, the one Bayman refers to I got more recently from a market, where you still see them fairly often, for around $10. Kids love the old fashioned one believe it or not.

Oh, and I've got the scoreboard too Spelly ;)

We used to put blu-tak on the catcher part of the fielders so they wouldn't fall over so easily when you clouted the ball at them.
