Potato Chips (or crisps)

Postby JK » Tue Jul 21, 2009 5:41 pm

Most people I know don't care, but some are quite insistent on a particular type, so Im polling a recent studio audience for the top 4 answers ...

I am a chip addict. Love them. By themselves, in a sandwich, with dip, with beer, with anything

Also love Corn Chips & other varieties like Toobs, Twisties, Cheezels etc.

Love hot chips too !

My favourite chip would have to be either the Light 'n' Tangy thins, or the classic Crinkle cut Chicken.

Funny you mention this ... I bought some yesterday and always get crinkle cut, but when I got home I realised they were thins.

Dementia is starting to take hold I fear.

CHIPS...bloody Yank rubbish...they're crisps...they've always been crisps...chips are what you have with fish from the 'Fish and Chip Shop' ;)

...anyway can't vote with only 1 option cos it depends...if I'm just having a bag of crisps then it's the traditional thin ones...if it's to have with dips then the crinkle ones are best cos they don't break so easily.

I have a confession to make. I am a chips/crisps addict. I usually eat one big packet of them each night (5-6 a week). Smith's thinly cut BBQ Ribs flavour are my favourites

Since I've been trying to lose weight I restrict myself to the occasional "fix" only.
I've tried both, and have a slight leaning to the Thins - but only eat Smiths Originals...

I posted this in the "sh1ts" thread but since we have a dedicated thread to chips I'll rehash.

I bought a pack of Crinkle Cut chips, and as I wanted Chicken I just grabbed the green pack without even looking at the
label (they where in the same area as the Chicken usually are).

Anyhow a couple of night later I opened them and grabbed a handful and shovelled them in. Pricks ! They were a bloody Bacon n Onion
Garlic flavour. Bastards ! Only flavour that comes in Green should be Chicken !

I emailed Smiths in disgust, that they have tarnished the Green colour scheme. They sent me a $4 money order LOL !

Bastards could have at least sent me a box of Chicken Crinkle Cut......

I like the crinkle cut chips, preferably in the Salt and Vinegar flavor or Sweet Chilli.

I used to be addicted to The Full Monty Chips and Toobs, but since both were off the market for a while I've pretty much become a muncher of all varieties of chips.

.......and all my life I thought it was the Yanks that called them crisps  , we've always called them chips over here, we also call the hot ones chips, unless you get them from McDonalds, then they are the Yanky version, French Fries.

My favourites,

Smiths: original, chicken, cheese & onion or BBQ
Tasty Jacks: chicken or BBQ
Kettle: pretty much anything from their range
