Someone with greater intelligence than me has to make a decision here.

I was an idiot driver when I was young.

The only thing that changed my driving habits was age.

Now I drive as an old Fart.

Nothing changed my driving habits.

I was an idiot.

As i got older I realised I was not bullet proof.

My earlier cars could not do the speeds of today's cars.

It's the cars.

It's not the cars, i have the first 4 cylinder Hyundai that was ever bought out, in have taken it out legally on a track and pulled 160km out of it with something lefgt, no it is not worked, it is stock standard, it's the brain power and peer group pressure that causes a majority of young deaths on the road, doesnt matter what sort of car they are in, some just put the foot flat to the floor, some of the more risky pursuits i was involved in and some pretty horrific speeds were with 4 cylinder vehicles

I don't think restricting cars by the number of cylinders is very effective.
I once had a 4 cylinder car which put out 270 bhp - roughly 180Kw - and it wasn't even turbo charged, or super charged...
A chip change had brought it up from 240 bhp to 270 but that was all that was done.

Agreed Locky. Whilst I'd never considered myself a hoon, as a teenager I liked to drive towards the outer edge of my cars ability. Fortunately I had a Triumph 2000 which weighed a heap and only had about 80hp.

Peer pressure is certainly the big factor in my eyes. Put three or four guys in a car and it can be a recipe for disaster. Testosterone is a big influence. Don't think that the same can be said about Oestrogen... You don't often hear of a car full of three young girls getting written off...

Totally agree, but shouldn't be a problem with more Police on the road than ever this weekend, how come alot i know have a grace day today, police that would normally be working but given Easter off so as to cut down on the budget, but besides that please erveryone stay safe
