Morning Zoo

How many others grew up with this on SA-FM? Grant Cameron, John Vincent and the crew over the years, gave great fun as a kid, in the car driving to work. Dad was one of the first SA-FM converts, he had an original 107 Card that was 3 digits, got it in the opening week or so of the station opening.

"Party Town...yeah yeah"

A little after the original SA breakfast radio pioneers, Bazz and Pilko, but both were enormous fun at their best.
Can you guess where I'm calling from, the Las Vegas Hilton...

One of the highlights was "How Green Was My Cactus?".
I'm guessing it was syndicated, but geez it was a funny show.

I remember them doing the "manual" bleeping out of Kevin Bloody Wilson's "Hey Santa Claus" for about 2 or 3 Christmases in a row. You could hear them giggling in the background and missing the first bit of 'cu' each time. I remember one morning, near Christmas I was going for a job interview. I was stuck at Port Rd South Rd traffic lights and it came on. Half way through I was snorting and laughing to myself. I looked around and other people stuck at the same lights were doing exactly the same.

Classic radio!

Breakfast radio was a hell of a lot better in years gone by than it is today.

I listened to the Zoo post Grant and Vinnie..during my high school years 89-94...but remember the Rock N Roll Roadie getting out and about in the Black Thunder, Party Town and Cactus...loved the Guru too. Think guys like Scott McBain, Bernie Brittain and Craig Bruce may have been in the hosts chairs in my time and Vinnie was on after cos seem to recall my PE teacher often having the radio on in the classroom and hearing chicken man with vinnie doing the intro!!
Trust the process.

I have posted this before but I remember going to one of the live Friday morning broadcast at Victoria Park in 1994 and singing Party Town... crazy at 6am in the morning :)
I got sick of my job
sick of my life
sick of my future
and sick of my wife

packed up my car and I got some gas
told everybody they could kiss my ass

im gonna party town
(yeah, yeah)
im gonna party down
(yeah yeah)

sun goes up
sun goes down
doesn't really matter in party town
we go all day
and we go all night
we keep on going
'till we get right

right here in party town
(yeah, yeah)
we're gonna party down
(yeah yeah)
we're gonna have some fun
we're gonna fool around
right here in party town
RIP my DH 1964 - 2009 - You were one of the best and I miss you

Remember the Roadie doing Party Town one Friday morning from a hardware store (at St Marys or somewhere inner southern) where there was a massive fire the night before and the Yeah Yeah's were replaced with Fire Fire.
Trust the process.
