One for Spellcheck

Postby smithy » Fri Aug 07, 2009 10:18 pm

At 12.34pm and 56 seconds today, the time and date will read 12:34.56, 7/8/09.

It is the only time the 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 sequence of numbers will feature in succession in the time and date until the year 3009.

But i guess you already knew that. :)

At the start of a century, you get a lot of those sorts of things. ;)

All depends on if you choose 200* or 0* for the year. :)

It is funny that a whole group of people, assuming they were in the US, had celebrated this. It is an interesting little moment in time though.

I take it that you are refferring to the American method of writing the date. But I think the Yanks go Month/Day/Year. Which would make it 8/7/09. In Japan they write it from biggest to smallest ie. Year/Month/Day. If I remember right Australia writes it from smallest to biggest.
Is that right?

I believe that's right. It's Day/Month/Year.

I remember in 1990 it was 12.34.56 7/8/90. All the numbers including 0.

not quite. it will happen again in 2109, 2209, 2309 etc. still works when leaving off the first two numbers of the year like when using the year 2009...
