I take it that you are refferring to the American method of writing the date. But I think the Yanks go Month/Day/Year. Which would make it 8/7/09. In Japan they write it from biggest to smallest ie. Year/Month/Day. If I remember right Australia writes it from smallest to biggest.
Is that right?
