Yeah, I know of someone doing uber eats and a door dasher but the money is in delivering people, I was wondering the pros and cons with it financially and where esle would I start asking questions than an internet site with random people disguising themsleves with all sorts of weird names?

Seems pretty easy to get into https://www.uber.com/au/en/e/drive/adelaide-sa-au/

I wonder if I'd get pillaged tax-wise. Would be pretty easy doing airport runs.

Dunno … but I think your car has to be at most 8 years old, plus I suspect all the costs and liability are on you, plus the insurance hike on your car.

So unless you’ve just got off a plane to first set foot in Australia, or are retired and want to have some spare cash that you don’t want the better half to know about, it's not worth the effort.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

Under 5 years for the vehicle. Yeah, the cons probably outweigh the returns. Have thought about it for a few years, just to keep busy after work without spending money.

An acquaintance tells me that he was selling two to three AMG 4WD with everything, around $450k, to young blokes in their 20s and 30s , cash. up until about three weeks ago and has not sold one since.

I have always wondered about this
It costs me about $10 -$12 to get into town.
Some of them drive further to pick me up than the actual trip
How do you account for the massive depreciation on your car from racking up 100's of kms every week?

Is it really worth it?

The transport industry works on economy of scale.

Take one pallet to Perth for $500 on a trailer and its not worth it. Take 18 pallets to Perth on one truck at $500 each. Now we're talking.

Same with Uber, do 5-8 jobs a night after work at $8 each it's not worth it. Run the car 24/7 and do 200-250 jobs a week at $8. Now we're talking.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

I was more along the lines of doing a couple of airport runs before and after work as well as times when I'm doing nothing to keep my off the betting apps and out of the pub. I've found a new hobbie now though and it's doing me well.
