My theory at the time was that the older child knocked off the baby in a fit of sibling rivalry, and that the parents tried to cover it up.
At this stage I really have no idea, but I'm sceptical about the Dingo story.

From the recent reports, if it was a Dingo, the core issue was leaving the baby and the older child alone in the tent.
It appears both parents, on the assumption that it was safe, were far enough away from the tent to not intercede, or to notice, what was happening.
I suspect that isn't normal for our indigenous folk - except perhaps for those with modern addiction issues.
