It's not just high schools either, more and more of these types of incidents are happening in primary schools.
And in my experiences, a lot of these types of things aren't just a one-way street. Sometimes, not always, the kid who gets hit has been doing all the yapping and cries foul when he cops it back physically. Not condoning either, and in this particular case I have no idea about the circumstances, but there does tend to be a back-story to these types of issues.
