Was at the first of the 2 venues. Believe it's called the gatehouse.
The ceremony was on the grass under some simple big umbrellas. Was only about 2 dozens chairs and the rest of the guests stood. After that the bridal party had photos around the place while the guests were waited on with beers and also finger food.
Then when the party had completed there photos we went in side for a sit down dinner. That was different again though, instead of the usual alternate meals it was platters in the middle of each table with enough food for the whole table.
Was a really good day night, even with the heat!
Dunno what costs would be like but id recommend the venue to people!

I said "No worries"
She then went ahead and done pretty much all of the organizing with a couple of friends. I'm not trying to sound chauvenistic but I see it as "her day", girls from a young age have a mental image of how they want their wedding to be, men are just happy that someone is silly enough to marry them. Our wedding day turned out to be a blast and she was very happy. We actually had a "surprise wedding".

Cracking setting and considered it, but they make you supply your own booze, which I disliked because it meant more organising than I wanted.

surely its not that hard to get 2-3 different types of beers, white wine and a red wine??
You would save on alcohol then aswell buying the cartons yaself, or kegs, whichever option you went with!

Anyone got any good ideas for an outdoor ceremony? Any gardens in particular that people have attended a ceremony in?

A trip to Dan Murphy's would sort it out no probs, would only take an arvo I reckon.

My first wedding was at my fiancée's local church - West Richmond Methodist - and the reception was dry because her family were Methodist and it was in the Church Hall.
I didn't get involved in the planning much - my only stipulation was that I would not wear a Dinner Suit before 6pm, because doing so would be crass and incorrect.
My second wedding was a quick visit to the Registry Office at lunch time, with two friends as witnesses, followed by drinks for friends back at my office afterwards.
We told the families after the event to prevent there being any pressure to make it something more fancy...
