Who want's to drive anything over 10 years old anyway.
(Unless on the Bay to Birdwood)
You must have to keep up with the latest safety technology or you can't afford to be on the roads.
That would stop chilren from buying over-powered vehicles at very cheap prices.
Could it be that simple....?
If you say I cannot afford this, then catch a bus.
I'm still driving the 1995 Audi S2 I own, not because I can't afford a new car, but because I haven't found anything better.
Even the Cayman S I looked at late last year didn't convince me it was worth the change - in fact the Audi is a better car overall.
It matches the Cayman S in performance and has the advantage of better grip from its Quattro all wheel drive system
Nor did the VW Tuareg and VW Tiguan I test drove this year convince me I should part with the 1996 Musso I still have.
I may have bought a Tiguan had it had a low ratio, and had it been possible to fit a 'roo bar to protect the car from expensive body damage in event of a minor accident.
Why would you buy a 4wd that couldn't have that protection fitted when running into a Wallaby in the countryside is fairly possible, except to please the repair industry?
Both my cars have done about 160,000 Km and are in good working order.
