Not me -but friends of mine.
They bought a gorgeous old house in town called Murtoa in Western Victoria (for those in the know, it's where they used to tape the old Flying Doctors series)
Anyhoo, they were pulling up the old lino and underneath were newspapers (as there normally is...) HOWEVER
Upon further investigation of these pristene old newspapers, they discovered that they were from the Bodyline era, so a lot of the papers sports pages were filled with stories from this series. But that aint the biggie.
They also discovered - in MINT condition, a full page COLOUR cartoon of something that looked like Ginger Meggs. (don't forget this paper was from the 30's so colour in papers was unheard of) So on their next trip to Melbourne they took it to someone who knew a bit more about these things. Turns out that this cartoon page was some sort of early "pilot" (if you will) of the Ginger Meggs cartoon, so wasn't actually named so yet. In other words, a piece of Australian cartoon history.
The dealer offered them $25K on the spot for it, which they declined.
FYI - they actually had alot of the pages out of all the Bradman stuff framed and still have them around the house. They look amazing..
So anyone that lives in a really old house, next time you replace the carpet or whatever, look under the original lino/floor boards and see what you find!
