Talking about re-zoning along major transport corridors. Excellent move IMO.
St Kilda Rd in Melbourne is a good example of how it can work if done properly.

If I didn't have allergy problems in the city I'd consider an apartment above commercial premises on say Unley Rd or King William in the south.
[Or perhaps down at the Bay or Brighton.]
But I wouldn't want a house overlooked by the noisy denizens of blocks of flats like I was for the brief time I lived in Prospect.

Geez, i was driving down that last weekend. It took absolutely forever to get nowhere. The boy and I were actually cheering every time we got through another set of lights. Hope that's not the way we're headed!

The place looks like a landscape from a war torn city.
Could easily construct a high rise there, replacing like for like.
Can't believe its been left like this for the last 10 plus years

How's the spur line to Footy Park coming along?

THE State Government has given the green light to undertake development in national parks without approval under an overhaul of planning laws.
The Government has pushed through amendments to Development Act planning regulations that will allow developments in national parks without any formal approval or independent assessment.
Under the reforms, which took effect on September 16, dam expansions, local desalination plants, waste water pumping stations, and boat ramps can also be built without approval.

RAIL services would extend to Flinders University and a major new underpass would be constructed between Sturt and Main South roads as part of a State Government transport vision.
