Anyone got some tips for bad backs. Done two muscles in my back thanks to my moon boot and can hardly move atm.Any tips greatly appreciated
Tried pain relief, heat packs, lying down, standing up. Only thing that's helped so far was 12 beers and 11 bundys yesterday but that made it even worse today!

Yep my boot threw mine out as well.....
So bad that one day I was doubled over in pain and couldn't move. Found some foam rolling does help a little.

Thank Christ I have also got rid of the stupid boot....

I found laying flat on my back on the floor on a heat pack helped. As did the panadine forte and Valium :)

Only advice I would give you is go and get it checked out. Backs aren't something you want to take a risk with.

Just dont get it checked at a large bulk billing doctors in the Port Adelaide area that I did !! I work around the corner went in as I know I have arthritis in the base of my spine . Thought I'd get some pain relief like panadol forte . quack sent me for a scan which they have an xray place downstairs .
Couple days later I returned to get the results the quack I saw that day tore strips off me for having a scan !! I was like no the other doctor sent me for a scan he wouldnt have it . Told me all I needed was physio and pain killers !

All the best wedgie with your back

Initially laying down provides pain relief, but...you need to keep it moving.
Walk, however awkward it is, as much as you can.
The longer you remain inactive, the longer it will take you to recover.

Am currently recovering from a bulging disc in my neck - that popped out at Easter and I'm still feeling a little sore.
Bulging discs also ended my footy playing days.
Not fun but you can manage them.

Also, if you're at work - set your computer up so you can stand at it. The relief you feel, as compared to spending six to eight hours sitting, is quite significant.

Yeah I've found keeping moving helps it.
Thanks for your advice everyone.

Only advice I can offer is do not heat the wheat bag up too much. I had blisters when it ignited in bed after microwaving. Didn’t feel a thing though as the back was already so sore.

Depends what's wrong with your back.

What fixes some backs screws others. If it's a pulled muscle that's completely different to bulging disc.

Deadlifts, proper core work and awareness of how your pelvis is tilting are things that helped me.

The best medico I ever knew for backs and shoulder injuries was Colin Mills - a Rehabilitation Physician at Hindmarsh. (? Holland St)
I'm not sure if he is still practising.

Provided there's nothing structurally wrong, a rolled towel under your back whilst laying flat on the floor

Nope I dropped in to see him, just to say "hello", at his rooms in 2009 when I came back from Melbourne - he was still practising then.
