Having an increased muscle mass will help you burn more of the energy consumed during the day. So, long term it is very beneficial.

I'll throw my 2 cents in-

Started diet after local footy season finished- 15th September.
Start weight- 100kg.
Current weight- 96.5kg (pretty happy with that considering haven't done any cardio as yet)

Currently on low carb, low fat, high protein diet.
4 weights sessions a week.
Beginning cardio as of next week with 2 sessions per week on top of the weights sessions which should see more weight shed before I start my football pre-season in a month or so.

Haha thanks mate, yeah the fracture which kept me out for 10 weeks which didnt help. Being the middle of winter and having all that spare time on my hands I think I enjoyed a few too many roasts.

In regards to my first post my target weight is 93-95kg of lean muscle mass.
