Did it in ~ 24 min today - toll gate to old EOTH pub.

thats great... well done... did you finish at the pub or continue up to the top?
i use that part of the freeway as a training ride to see if im getting better, i time splits from toll gate to devils elbow, elbow to EOTH, EOTH to crafers..first split 9/10 mins. second 10 mins, 3rd 8 mins..
that first bit just gets in my mind every time...

Got up early this morning and rode from Flaggy to Henley and back, 42kms nice and easy along the beach on a cracking morning. Geez its nice to ride down on the plains, first time Ive done a decent ride down there for a few months. Nice to not be preparing for the next hill!!!

Although I did tick the cement hill climb off my to do list on the way home, the first bit up to the golf club is a bit scetchy with no real shoulder and trucks flying past you, dont see myself doing that again for a while, ill go up the veloway, flaggy rd or go around to cove.

150kms in the last 6 days, thats a record for me

Nah just to EOTH pub. For me working at Glenside to the old pub and back is a perfect lunchtime ride. 35 mins up, 15 back, change in and out of gear 1 hr.

Signed up today for Amy's, RLC and TDU rides.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

How much will that set you back am? Will be putting the TCR composite 2 on lay-buy this week down at glenelg cycles.

About $2000 depending where i get it Super Elliots or JTs

Well went into JT cycles on Thursday to do a final check and decide wether I wanted the Giant TCR Composite 1 or 2, as I walked out spotted at Avanti Giro composite. Priced at $1400 down from $2300. Only Shimano 105 componentry and 900 g heavier than the Giant TCR but with $900 off the price I'm too much of a tight ar5e to go past it, so brought it today. So new wheels about to spend the rest of the night chucking on the Polar 200 CS, and bidot cages etc.

<edit>

Well gave the new wheels a whirl today. Rode to our recovery session, normally it takes me 35-38 mins to ride the 13.5 kms from the footy club to my place (Hallet Cove) today 30 mins. Few minor set up adjustments this afternoon (seat and handle bar position) then happy days!!

For those who could be interested...I recieved a letter from Barossa Council yesterday. They have been given a $4.8 million Federal grant to build a bikeway/walking track between Tanunda & Gawler ( 27km). It is to follow the rail line/North Para river.

Excuses ky lack of knowledge regarding local terrain, but would that be a reasonably flat stretch of land?

Not dead flat by any means, but not the Adelaide Hills either. Would be a good ride I reckon.

Went for my first ride in over a month today.

About 40k's.

Felt rather average is must be said. My speedo's battery is dead, thankfully, as I think that was the slowest I've gone.

Just didn't feel a lot of strength today.

Ah well, will go again tomorrow hoping to feel better.

Hopeing to get out Sunday morning before the footy, have ridden to work 3 times this week so 120 kms into the legs including climbing Belair Rd once. Was going to head along the coast Sunday but Glenelg will be a nightmare with the City to Bay, also the Car Rally in the hills has closed some roads.

Went to Willunga Markets this morning with the family so went for a drive up the hill to check it out, put the GPS tracker on and just reviewed it, around 200m of climbing for nearly 4kms, almost exactly the same as Belair Rd climb ive been doing so am getting confident I can make it up OK. Was expecting worse gradients.
