After doing my weekly EOTH ride with a mate at lunchtime, I decided to come home via Old Belair Rd tonight, not knowing the road well I weakened mentally and stopped ~ 400 m from Belair (just near Beverley cr). When I started again and realised how close I was to the top I cursed myself for being so bloody soft.

Off to try and find some bike riding kit in Dark and Light Blue to match my soft attitude....

Planning to ride from Hallet Cove to Pongy on Sunday via Old Willunga Hill as a training session for Amy's Ride in a fortnight.

Redeption tonight, up OBR in 13 mins (roundabout near Scotch to Belair) no stopping.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Nah, I asked them about that and they said there was little or no difference in performance and I would have to change my shoes also so happy to keep going with the Candy's.

DId Flaggy to town in 42 mins this morning, my previous best was 44 mins so whatever they did to my bike its made it work a fair bit better!

1hr 19min total ride time
takes me about 15-18mins to get to the glen osmond/portrush rd intersection (depending on traffic)
the climbing times are the main thing i was interested in, the split times were a bit quicker than usual so was pretty happy...
24min 56sec old freeway climb 8.8km, splits - portrush to devils elbow 9min 17sec , devils elbow to EOTH pub 9min 26 sec , Pub to bollards at crafers 6min 13sec.
6min 22sec Mt osmond climb, 1.8km

legs are aching a bit now.. :(

Quality beats my 18 mins to Springabnk rd from parkside, then another 18 mins going up belair rd, then 25 mins from Belair down Shepherds hill rd to Hove.

24 km average speed.

well... that put me in my place.. :)
finished 8th or 9th overall i think have to wait to see final listing of results to be exact..
21km @ 36km/h average... 35mins of fun..

think i shot myself by going out with about 7 mins to go, i felt good so i went a bit quicker by myself up the back straight (into a head wind) and got out in front to lead for a lap then hit the wall a bit on the back straight again into the wind and rejoined the pack but just didnt recover to well.. (couldnt get my heart rate down) didnt have enough left in the legs in the final sprint to really challenge the leaders..
learning curve for next time, and will give it another crack on tuesday night...

Maybe don't take off into a head wind tonight and save it for a Cavendish style sprint ;)

Did about 35km last night. Woodville to outer harbor and back. Was nice going with the wind behind us on the way... shit of a ride coming home into it though.

So who's going in Amy's ride Sunday??

For some stupid/crazy reason I'm considering a late rego for the 65km version. Nothing like jumping in the deep end.

Yep, bit worried I havent done enough for 100 but will give it a crack, going for my last lead up ride first light tomorrow morning.

65km looks like a nice easy roll.

Forecast now 27 degrees should be perfect

well not the best result from last night... was in a good position when the express sprint bell went so i went for it that lap, was looking good too, hit the front with about 300m to go and then just got done 20/30m from the line.. so took second.. was kinda happy with that.. but this killed me for the rest of the race.. and finished mid bunch.. didnt challenge at all for the rest of the race..

will be doing the 100km sunday for Amys.. so hopefully the wind stays away..
