Sorry if this has been done be4. Just delete mods if so.

Just trying to drum up conversation. ;)

I think the Nissan will be hard to beat in 2013.

As Usual. :D

Be funny if there was more Nissans than Holdens. #-o :D

Why would there just be 2?

Should be made to be equal of each model, what do you think?

Nissan will need to have everything go right for it to be consistent next year.

It all comes down to the engine builders as to how many cars will be able to line up i would guess.

The car certainly looks quick with the sleek body shape, but it depends on how they get the power down thats going to be a major factor.
Not sure if the engines will be Nissan as i think all teams basically run the same block. I dont think they race a v8 from the factory as i think they are twin turbo v6's in the touring car world series.
Someone may be able to confirm this.

Expecting the Nissans to struggle next year. Holden and Ford are already testing their cars for next year. The testing for Nissan will only be done by one of the teams drivers.

I just hope that if a poxy Nissan wins our great race the Bathurst fans give a big boo at the podium presentation as they did in 1989 when Jim Richards (and was it a young Skaife?) won in their tinny hybrid Skyline. The most unpopular victory in the history of the race.

yeah 1992, I'm happier with that Nissan win than if it was the Ford that was given the win!

Commodores rule - everything else is irrelevant but it's always great to beat a Ford.

Sucks how there are so many regulations. Nissan would dominate if they could make the best v8 they possibly could....hell a gtr would do it.

I don't mind that car at all.

Tuff fluro Orange commadore?

888 with the $$$ will dominate the season early with the additional testing time they've had. I expect by the enduros that (sadly) the Nissan (possibly the mercs too) will be the cars to beat once the get there program sorted & the fuel economy of the overhead cam v8 will come to the floor, compared to the old Ford & holden push rod technology. Then just wait for the outcry from all the holden teams & the faithful (that jumped of hrt to the next winning bandwagon)
I wouldn't be suprised to see V8 have the tyre compounds made softer mid season to increase wear & take that advantage away.

The initial question on the start of the page mentioned the number of Nissans running. At this stage it is only the 4 cars from the Kelly Racing stable. I'd expect the two Kelly lads to fly the flag as Greg Murphy is just making up the numbers these days. The third driver might start progressing up the field.
I haven't heard of any independant teams changing over to the new manufacturers or creating technical alliances/customer car programs from either Kelly Racing or SBR.
I wouldn't be suprised for Garry Rogers to go over to Chrysler at the end of next season either.

Murphy is already assessing options to stay with Holden. Will not be apart of the Kelly Racing set up. Rumours of Caruso from GRM looking to sign with the Kelly Boys.

Don't think there would be any alliances with SBR next season as the SBR/Erebus setup is a customer of AMG itself can't see them on selling again. However if SBR get it right expect the Germans to jump on board ASAP.

I'm tipping it will take some time for Nissan to be competitive and that they won't win a race next year.
But, if they stay the course, Holden and Ford will be in trouble in 2-3 years. Then the powers that be will probably bring in rules to nullify the Nissans so as to appease the bogans who are the key market for this form of motor racing.

I dont think it'll be entirely the cars fault though. The Kelly brothers arent exactly frontrunners anymore, even in their Holdens.

Hence why they have chosen to be the Nissan factory backed team. Holden was cutting its support for the teams other than its factory backed team.
