Shafted by Helmut.

Don't think we will see him in F1 again.

Shame, but probably the right call.

Checo should never have got a 2 year extension, will probably suffer the same fate before his contract is up.

Helmut Marko is a senile, vindictive loose cannon, who only seemingly disrupts the team with endless stupid and ill timed comments.

Congrats to Max Verstappen on his 4th consecutive world championship.

Checo is a dead man walking … it’s inconceivable that Red Bull wouldn’t pick up Carlos Sainz next year, despite the fact he’s already signed with Williams.

Yuki nearly got turfed from his seat in his first season so probably grateful they stuck with him.

Might get a shot if Liam struggles and Helmut gets the shits on

Lawson bombs out in Q3, Tsunoda qualifies 5th.

Yuki will hopefully make Red Bull look stupid as the season progresses and press to get the seat he deserves.

Unless he starts crashing all the time I can't see Red Bull replacing Lawson this season. He's been deemed the "heir apparent" at Red Bull for a few years now grooming him to one day partner Verstappen so to not give him the whole season would make too many at RB, especially Horner, look bad. I think they're going to have to stick with Lawson all year unless the aforementioned big damage bill happens.

Great to see Yuki get P5 though and hopefully Horner feels a little sheepish. I don't think Yuki has a future at Red Bull beyond this year but I would like to see him do enough to get himself a seat on the grid somewhere else next year.

Eventful race due to the usual 4 seasons in one day Melbourne weather.

Predictable win by Norris, Piastri unlucky but Norris kissed on the dick when they both spun at the same spot, Verstappen shows his absolute class in 2nd place with a clearly inferior car to the McLarens.

Brilliant debut by Antonelli, 4th in his first F1 race.

Ferrari engineers need to get a gig at The Fringe … Hamilton’s engineer was talking to him like it was his first race, with Leclerc getting similar advice but he’s used to it now. Lewis is going to find out really quickly how amateurish the Italians are.

Hadjar, Doohan, Lawson, Bortoleto, Sainz and Alonso all spin out in the wet, showing how hard the conditions were when seasoned drivers like Sainz and Alonso get caught out.

Very sceptical that Lawson is up to it, and will cost RB any chance of the Constructor’s Championship, but time will tell.

Highlight of the day was Lewis Hamilton’s Dad consoling a distraught Hadjar as he was walking back to the pits after his crash. All class Anthony Hamilton.

Vale Eddie Jordan, 76.

One of F1’s greatest characters, his Jordan F1 team, after many ownership changes, is now Aston Martin F1.

Liam Lawson last in qualifying … again.

Tsunoda on track to be promoted well before the mid-season break if this keeps up.

Been impressed with Antonelli so far. Hopefully Oscar can hold the lead at the first turn this arvo, nearly impossible to beat if he does.

Lando changes his jocks after the race after his brakes started failing during the closing laps.

Already murmurs that Tsunoda will replace Lawson in Japan.

Jack Doohan also under pressure, but assume that he will be given longer to settle in.

Pretty boring race but can't complain with Oscar winning. See if Max can win in Japan again in a fortnight or if the McLaren is just too unstoppable.

George Russell driving as well as possible atm too

Doohan isn't far off his far more experienced team mate.
He's safe for now.

Piastri is going to be a force.

Official.

Tsunoda and Lawson swap teams.

Yuki to become the 6th second driver to Max Verstappen at RB, a record for any driver at an F1 team.
