Agreed. Alonso seems much more upbeat than this time 12 months ago. Ferrari were consistently near the top of the timing sheets in all 3 tests.

Lotus look quick too, but unreliable I fear. They had a lot of electrical troubles in testing, along with 2 gearbox changes, and did the lowest mileage of all teams..

Mercedes might be a dark horse out of the box.

McLaren look to be struggling, but we'll know a lot more come P3 this Sat.

Wet quali, first outing for year normally sees a few surprises throw in some wet weather and we could see some interesting results here.

FIA made the right call to can the rest of quali. Albert park was pretty bloody wet, just look at the number of spins that occurred in the 15 mins of Q1!!

yeah they did, the first session was chaos! Interesting to see how quick the Mercs were in the rain. Massa was very lucky to get away with his crash.
