If the interest is there we're always willing to try new forums, worse comes to worse we could create it for a trial period and see how it goes.
Is the interest there though?

Did you stay on one of those over water bungalows?

Looks pretty expensive.

Got about say 10k for 7-10 days.
Would that get me through?

Yes and that is a fair guesstimate.
I'm pretty sure Bridezilla will eat into it!

Hey Ron, we went to Rarotonga and missed Aitutaki by 'that much'. Loved it though and want to visit again when our kids are old enought to enjoy the watersports and crystal clear waters.

I didnt end up staying on overwater bungalows. I stayed Etu Moana (www.etumoana.com).

It is the best run place on the island and has rave reviews...

http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review ... lands.html

As for cost...

Flights were approx 3.5K for 2 people.
Accom was about 375 a night, so about 2.5K.
And it is nearly impossible to spend 4K in a week there.
I think we would have spent an average of 150-200 a day there, and had an island drop, cruises, snorkelling, ate out lunch and dinner, massages, scooter hire etc.

Good idea - people could also put in hotel/airline reviews, or ask for recommendations on places to stay etc.

Gathering momentum from the missus...
Tell me Ron?
Did you use a travel agent or book it all yourself?
Was food ie. breakfasts included with any of your accommodation?
Cheers

these days book everything yourself WLF! no need for agents anymore. they will have their on website. dont want to put you off, but had the scariest flight ever from rara to aitutaki. hit massive air pockets! Rara is a good place too. cool to cruise round on a scooter and observe local life!
what month - have you checked the seasons, you prob want to stay away from the rainy season.

It would be late November / early Dec so i will check that.
I've never been overseas, so i'd be pretty keen for lots of tips!
I kind of thought if i went to New York if i stayed in a $150 a night or $500 a night room i'd still see and have the same amazing experiences.
So if i go to this place, no need to waste my money on over-water bugalows etc!
