haha...and nobody hates soccer more than me. I'm actually a lot nearer to the other team...Cale Thistle...and I think soccer is only just ahead of shinty this far north.

I am however hoping to get a chance to go to Aberdeen to watch the Aberdingoes play sometime...trouble is their season clashes with the SANFL so they play when the Legs play.

Back to serious questions for a moment...while I plan my pre-trip shopping list I'm considering luggage security.

I know you can get TSA approved locks for travel to the US so they can security screen your bags without trashing them by forcing the lock/zip etc...not that I like the idea of someone going through my bags without me being present.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transporta ... gage_locks

So the questions are...do I need/ought to have something similar for travel to Australia? and if so what should I look for ie logo/brand?

JAS, I always use TSA locks. They're easily available at all places who sell travel luggage locks and are just the same as ordinary locks, but with the logo.

As a backpacker, I've had my packs obviously opened a few times and the TSA locks make that no problem.

I note the comment on the Wikipedia link that others will probably acquire the opening technology. [If they haven't already.]
I think I'd rather be able to demonstrate my bag had been forced open by somebody, and use an old bag I'm happy to replace as necessary if not just the lock is wrecked.

For JAS.

It a beautiful day in Adelaide today. I'm shifting in to a new place near the Esplanade at Aldinga Beach.

Mrs redandblack and I went for a drive this afternoon, from Aldinga Beach, to Silver Sands, to the Myponga Reservoir road to Carrickalinga, then to Normanville and Lady Bay. That only took a little more than half an hour. It's more than a beautiful drive, it's one of the most beautiful drive in the world - yes, the world. Spectacular coastal scenery and vistas, hills rolling down to a blue sea, gorges, kangaroos, parrots, farms and roads and pine trees that skirt the beach.

I thought of you, JAS and I implore you to find time to do that drive. It's the best drive within reasonable distance of Adelaide.

Stop off for something to eat at the Victory Hotel at Sellicks Hill or at the Star of Greece at Port Willunga at the start of the drive.

JAS, if you've finalised your timetable, de-finalise it ;)
