That's good enough for me, JAS.

Mt Blanc it is.

(Actually, Aguille du Midi, from Chamonix, the mountain next to Mt Blanc.)

Wow  why can't i have this kind of luck when I'm picking lottery numbers :?

OK this one doesn't show much detail so a little clue from the outset...I'm looking across a border and if you're old enough to remember the early 70's you will have heard the name of this famously disputed piece of land on news reports back then...

On second thoughts, Sam, and due to the overwhelming number of responses ;) , I think we'll go with your answer.

I thought it was Amsterdam, but it might have been Alkmaar, both not far from Edam.

Your turn, Sam, or anyone else.

OK R&B if Sam isn't going to then I'll help keep this going.

Which people used to work in this building?...bonus if you know the building's name.

Been mulling over this one. Looks imposing.

Cars are parked for left-hand drive, so presumably continental Europe and the architecture is hardly flamboyant, so:

A spy building, Russia, Moscow, Lubianka, I'd say?

When were you there, if so, JAS?

Yep spot on R&B it's the the old KGB HQ, Lubyanka in Moscow.

No idea if there's any truth in it but all the tour guides make a point of telling you that people used to avoid walking past it cos you could sometimes hear screams coming up from the basement. Given some of the sh*t that went on during the Cold War I guess it could be true...afterall it's not as if they could have complained about the noise to anyone.

Yep.

I'm not 100% sure if it's the Champs Elysees or the avenue at right angles to it, but I think it's the CE. (Taken from the top of the Arc de Triomphe)).

Your turn.

Bit of a rubbish photo! I still don't own a digital camera so I had to scan an old one. First time I've ever done that!

Interesting one, mate.

Cobbled square and architecture seems European, perhaps Eastern Europe, baltic states or Russia?

I haven't been to that part of the world (Finland's the closest), so I'll make a multi-guess and say Riga or Tallin or somewhere in Poland?

(Can't remember the capital of Lithuania :? )
