I'm thinking about filling in my trip with quite a few of these bus tours when i don't have a whole lot of time in a particular city, as they seem fairly good value and also reasonably flexible considering you can get on and off at any point, and it also looks like a good way to ensure you get a chance to see a lot of the highlights in each city in a short period of time.

Has anybody used any of them before, any in particular they would or wouldn't recommend?

The city's I'm thinking about doing the bus tours in are,
Cardiff
Glasgow
Edinburgh
Newcastle
Liverpool
Luxembourg
Brussels
Porto
Lisbon
Barcelona
''I can't think back to a time where Australia have been so convincingly beaten'' - Mark Taylor in regards to the 2010/11 Ashes series.

They are a good way of seeing a lot of the city in a short amount of time.

I've done them in Paris, Edinburgh and Rome.

I'd actually recommend doing a cycling tour of Barcelona, A-Damage and Paris. That's definitely the best way to see those cities.

In Porto and Lisbon I did a walking tour and both were fantastic, particularly Lisbon. We had a Timorese-Portuguese guide and his knowledge of thie city and the country's history was astounding. He was a walking Wikipedia!

In Porto, definitely do a Port wine tour.

My wife and I caught one in Edinburgh when we were there a few weeks ago. It was particularly good as I hadn't had time to do decent research on what were the major sights, so it helped us make sure we saw the things we 'should' see.

Bought a 24-hour one in Rome and basically used it as a kind of public transport to jump on and off at various places around the city. Worth the 12 Euro.

Did the "Magical Mystery Tour" in Liverpool, good fun if you're a Beatles fan.
