Professional wrestler Brian Adams — best known as Crush in the WWE world — is dead. The 43-year-old died overnight with the cause yet to be determined, a statement said. An autopsy will be performed on Wednesday. His wife found him unconscious in bed and dialled 911 but Tampa paramedics were unable to revive him.

Adams was a member of the more hardcore wrestling unit known as Demolition, whose members were notorious for slathering black paint on their faces and donning leather straps as part of their outfits. Adams' life wasn't without scandal: according to fan pages, he was allegedly arrested in 1994 for carrying steroids and a stun gun. He was later acquitted of the drug charges.

The tragedy comes at an awkward time for WWE, which has been under the public gaze following the murder-suicide of Chris Benoit in June this year. Benoit, his wife Nancy and their seven-year-old son were found dead in their Georgia home by police. Investigators later concluded that Benoit murdered his wife and son the weekend before, and then hanged himself a few days later.

Another one gone. Add him to the very long list of deaths from the past 10 years.

Read in another article that he had quit in 2003 due to a spinal injury.

Brian Adams & Brian Clark aka 'Wrath' were in that ill fated dying days of the WCW ripoff of the WWE's 'APA' (Ron Simmons aka 'Farooq' & Bradshaw)
I think they were known as the 'Kronik Protection Agency' if memory serves correctly!

He absolutely sucked in the ring. He was apparently very well liked by other wrestlers.
