Name the top 5 individual sports events (in your opinion) that are 'played' on Australian soil on a typically annual basis.
A quick attempt from me:
1. Melbourne Cup
2. Australian Open Tennis
3. Stawell Gift
4. Iron Man series
5. Any event involving Anthony Mundine losing.

The Melbourne Cup is the only one of these I ever notice is on. When I lived in SA I also noticed the Gawler 3-day event, and Oakbank, but I've never been to any of them. [Yes I used to ride horses in the 1980s- trained at a riding school near Oakbank.]
