GWW - have you ever been to a stage of the Tour Down Under? Go to one of the races in the city - its actually pretty good.

For us Northerners, I think there's a stage in Mawsons. This "Tour Down Under Thing" has grown from day one. This is BIG and it's going to get BIGGER as the years pass...!

Why start a thread about a topic in which you obviously have no interest whatsoever? I realise that most Port supporters are only concerned with what price Cash Converters will give for a stolen one, but if you have no appreciation for the sport, why post such a puerile comment?

I must admit although I admire the riders greatly for their unbelievable fitness and speed I can't see why people would watch it.
I'm a sports freak but the idea of going somewhere just to watch a heap of cyclists riding past me does nothing for me.
I'd rather watch a good game of chess.
Must be a lycra thing, I occasionally go for a ride on my bike in baggy shorts and a Tshirt, for the life of me I can't work out why these peanuts I pass going walking pace have the full shiny black pants/lycra advertising tops. Perhaps it makes them go faster and if they didn't wear it they'd stop? Absolute dickheads IMHO. And while I'm started I know its fully legal for riders to ride 2 abreast but for christ sake show some common sense, even when I was a stupid teenager I had the common sense to ride either in front of or behind my mate so cars had more room to get through and there was a less chance of an accident. It doesn't suprise me you get a report every week that another cyclist has been hit, they wouldn't have a bloody ounce of common sense between them.
(end of rant)

I know. I realised the irony after I'd hit the "submit" button but then thought it would be gutless to go back and edit it.
The prosecution withdraws the statement, your Honour.
