Roberts out for season
Sportal

Sydney Kings import Rolan Roberts will miss the remainder of the NBL season after sustaining a shoulder injury during the All-Star game dunk competition.

Roberts sustained a complete tear in his pectoralis major when he executed a dunk and then stuffed his arm into the basket and hung from the rim by his other arm.

He was ruled out of the All-Star game following the incident.

Kings and World All-Stars coach Brian Goorjian said he initially thought his medical staff were playing a prank when he received the bad news on the night of the game.

"You always have your fingers crossed for that, but it's usually in the game," Goorjian told AAP.

"I thought they were joking. That obviously is one of the risks you get being involved in a game like this ... but it certainly didn't look good and for him to have something that's sore with a body like that isn't a good sign."

Without Roberts in the centre for the World team, the Aussie All-Stars romped to a 151-116 victory.

This is why you leave the sideshow alley stuff to the likes of Brett Rainbow.

How's that clown from NZ who won the dunk competition but who has never played a NBL game.

WTF is that, surely you need to play a game to be eligible?

The whole concept is a joke.
How could you have a coaching coaching the Australian team one year then the World team the next year?
An Australian coaching the world team and an American coaching the Australian team.
Sounds Irish to me.

Umm...Boy Goorj is the Boomers coach...

Be even more Irish if the Australian coach didn't coach the Australian team.

In fact, that's positively English.
