At least I can't be blamed for the loss, ugly though, I never thought I'd say this but we have the talent, perhaps its time we needed a new coach?

That's the thing, though - I don't think we have the talent, at least, not enough to compete with the likes of Sydney and Melbourne.
Our top three players - Maher, Farley and Rychart - are as good as any in the league. Holmes and Forman seem to be developing quite nicely but we fall away quickly after that.
Conversely, the benches at Sydney and Melbourne run pretty deep.
Also, we've been playing 'small' ever since Phil took over as coach. Maybe it's the point guard in him but hell, lets get a legit centre in there!
Preferably someone who won't stiff us like Bradtke, Wheeler and Rogers.
Unfortunately, it seems that we've missed out on Schenscher. He looks like going to the, gulp, Southern Dragons.

It looks like they don't want to play finals.

Surely no one gets belted by that much,
not when your 3rd on the ladder !
Even the bottom teams dont loose by that much !
you would think there is surely some problems their,
when all of a sudden you loose 6 in a row,
and get belted by a team thats only 2 possies
higher on the ladder ????

My brother in law sat on the bench Friday night in Sydney - was very excited about it until the game started - very ugly

The problem is with getting higher profile big men to come to Adelaide is the salary cap scrutiny that Adelaide gets every year but sides like the Kings and the Tigers manage to avoid. I was at a Convention in Sydney some years back and met a NBL Board member who openly stated that for basketball to suceed in Australia on a national level it needed a strong Sydney Kings and to his mind they needed to be outside the salary cap to achieve it. Well it has happened that Sydney is the league champs but it also appears that they are still getting concessions with their playing roster

Things finally might be changing for the better.
The Kings couldn't sign Schenscher to replace Roberts because of the salary cap.

I thought it was because he didn't want to leave the minor league in the US where it's believed the exposure to NBA clubs is greater?

Agree Constance, I couldn't see Schenscher playing in the NBL at this stage of his career.

He's in line for a ten day contract at the moment.
But the Kings were chasing him.
The timing was off though.
Even Boy Goorj admitted he would be stupid to turn his back on the Development League.
Hopefully, he's not as thick as Chris Anstey.
